turiya

Turiya Moore has been sharing the yoga, meditation, and practical “how to be happy” teachings of Paramhansa Yogananda since 2002 in many locations in Torrance, Redondo Beach and throughout South Bay. He founded the Ahimsa Yoga Center in 2002, which became Ananda Meditation Center South Bay, at 3774 Pacific Coast Hwy in 2005, and served as its director and primary teacher until 2010. During this time, he taught meditation, yoga asana, and yoga philosophy as his full time occupation. In 2010, Turiya moved to Ananda Village, a spiritual community in Northern California. Members there practice the techniques and teachings of Paramhansa Yogananda as a way of life. During the five years he lived at “The Village” he served in a number of ways. What he enjoyed most was living and working with deeply inspired life-long meditators.

Turiya was born in Los Angeles, raised in Redondo Beach and now lives in Torrance with his wife Darshana. Together they founded Meditation Unlimited in November 2015 and Yogananda Meditation Center in January 2018.

Darshana

Darshana Moore became interested in meditation and found the teachings of Paramhansa Yogananda and Swami Kriyananda in 2009, attending classes at Ananda Meditation Center South Bay. Since then, she has been applying them in her own life and sharing them with others. Darshana moved to Ananda Village in 2011 and lived there for four years. She served as production manager at Crystal Clarity Publishers, Ananda’s publishing house for books and products related to meditation and yoga. During this time, she also became a certified meditation and yoga instructor.

Both Turiya and Darshana received their training at The Expanding Light Retreat in Northern California.
